DiabetES & OBESITY
Diabetics
Did you know that people living with diabetes need to take extra care when traveling to locations above sea level, especially about 5,000 feet?
You likely never consider how “high” a location you are visiting is. Unless you’re an active outdoors person or a mountaineer, why would you? But maybe you should.
Our founder, Ema Dantas learned that when you visit locations at higher elevations, your blood sugar can lower (hypoglycemia). This is often because when you are at higher elevations, the oxygen levels are lower. The effect can be even lower if you increase your physical activity while in higher elevations.
If you are looking to improve your diabetes or possibly reduce your BMI (body mass index), you may want to consider doing this more efficiently.
High altitude training maximizes the benefits of exercise, allowing you to exercise for less time while putting forth more effort.
30 minutes high altitude exercise = 1 hour exercise at sea level
