ACCLIMATIZATION
The Air You Breathe
Have you ever watched a movie about Everest and witnessed people succumbing to the effects of high altitude?
Did you know that every year thousands of people travel to places above sea level to hike, trek, mountaineer, sightsee, or participate in winter sports and expeditions, and that some experience mountain or altitude sickness?
Altitude sickness appears at certain heights or with fast ascents.
Symptoms include:
- Headache
- Insomnia
- Lack of appetite
- Nausea
- Severe fatigue
- Vomiting
Safely Train at High Altitude
You control the environment so you learn to breathe efficiently safely, without experiencing altitude sickness.

Live High, Train Low (LHTL)
Live high/train low is a training method in which athletes live at high altitude and train at low altitude, usually with the goal of improving performance at sea level. The main idea is to reap the benefits of high altitude acclimatization while maintaining the intensity of low altitude training.
Live Low, Train High (LLTH)
The live low / train high model (LLTH) is characterized by living at sea level and training in hypoxia. Within the LLTH model there are further subdivisions into different methods: continuous training, interval training, repeated sprint training, resistance training and passive exposure at rest.
